Creating a Custom Field
Step 1: Access Field Settings
Go to Settings > Custom Fields and click Add Field.
Step 2: Configure Field Properties
- •Field Label: What customers see (e.g., "Product Serial Number")
- •Field Type: Text, Number, Dropdown, Checkbox, Date, File Upload
- •Required: Whether the field must be completed
- •Placeholder: Example text to guide customers
Field Types Explained
Text Field
Single line text input. Good for serial numbers, order references.
Text Area
Multi-line text input. Ideal for detailed descriptions.
Dropdown
Select one option from a list. Great for product categories, issue types.
Multi-Select
Choose multiple options. Useful for symptom checklists.
Number
Numeric input only. Use for quantities, measurements.
Date
Date picker. For purchase dates, incident dates.
File Upload
Allow document uploads. For receipts, warranties, documentation.
